Workplace Professionalism – Apostolic Style

Modern Classy Modesty

Good Morning!

As an Apostolic young woman that faces the workplace on a daily basis, I know first hand what it’s like to feel out of place and like you don’t belong. To feel the stares as you walk through the office or the supermarket on your lunch break- because come on, who dresses like that on a Tuesday afternoon? Does it intimidate me? No. Why? Glad you asked!

We are not meant to “fit in” or “blend in” with the rest of the world. 2 Corinthians 6:17 tells us to “come out from among them, and be ye separate. Paul also goes on to explain in verse 1 of chapter 7 that we need to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, PERFECTING HOLINESS in the fear of God.” That plays into the verse found in 1 Peter 1:16 “Be ye HOLY, for I am HOLY.”…

Modesty Doesn’t = Frumpy

3 Jul

Modern Classy Modesty

In our modern day world we are constantly fed by media and our society that provocative and unholy way of dress is not only okay and acceptable, but even encouraged. Women are almost looked on as items that men- and even woman now days- can feast their eyes upon and glory in their fleshly fantasies. It simply makes me sick. While true modesty may be considered “outdated”, “expired”, and “old-fashioned”. I still hold on to the fact that MODESTY is truly the classiest way for a women to dress and conduct herself.

With that being said, modesty goes much deeper than the layer out clothing you use to cover your body, but is goes much deeper than that to the center of your being- the heart. I want young girls and women, alike to understand the true meaning behind modesty. It’s not meant to be frumpy and to turn young…

Modern Classy Modesty

Good Morning!!!

Can you still have a beautiful and modest wedding in the 21st century? With out it looking outdated? Can you have a wedding that’s modest with a twist of modern and updated ideas? The answer is yes! Another question most girls ask their selves is if they choose to be modest, and try to apply modesty to every aspect of their lives will they still attract a guy? YES!!!! One of the biggest lies being told of our day is that you have to loosen your personal standards to attract a husband! NOT SO! In fact, the man you would attract doing so is not the kind of man I would want for a husband. Modesty and Purity is ALWAYS right!

I want to introduce you to a real life couple, they both held tight to modesty and purity LOOONG before they met each other. Meet Rachelle and Tyler Narlock!…

What’s He Crying About?

What’s He Crying About?.

What is “SAVING FAITH”?

7 Oct

WHAT IS “SAVING FAITH”?

“Saving faith” begins exemplification and manifestation when a sinful human hears the WORD OF GOD/Gospel of Jesus Christ. The “seed” of that WORD mixes with the human spirit of that individual, and there is created a “conception” of faith. That “conception of faith” begins to grow and produces a response in the mind, and actions, of that person which will include REPENTENCE and a “growing” all the way to NEW “BIRTH”. That “embryo” of faith continues on into a NEW BIRTH of “water” and “Spirit.” (Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ & being filled with the Holy Spirit, births that person into the “kingdom of God/heaven” and makes them a NEW CREATION in Christ Jesus that continues on to walk after the Spirit according the WORD of God.) John 3:1-8

“Saving faith” involves NOT trusting in human reasoning or in the ability of man. It involves the recognition of man’s inability to be to be righteous, holy, pure, or free of sin without a “Savior.”

“Saving faith” trusts in the saving grace of God which was manifested in Jesus Christ through His Life, Death, Burial, and Resurrection. That grace and faith leads to OBEYING the gospel (Jesus’ death, burial, & resurrection) by repenting, being baptized in Jesus name, & receiving the NEW LIFE of the Holy Spirit. EXACTLY like the early Church did in Acts 2:38, 8, 10 & 19.

If the “conception of faith” does not move forward and grow to “birth”, it is “dead faith” becoming a “still birth”. “Saving faith” does not die. “Saving faith” MUST grow to BIRTH and then continue grow to MATURITY. “Saving faith” continues in and through an individual until that person is “glorified”, like Jesus, and has come to total “fullness”/ maturity. “Glorification” of that person will take place when “the church”, the entire body of Jesus Christ, has come to fullness of growth and the LORD JESUS comes back for His bride who bears His name and likeness. ALL BECAUSE “saving faith” was conceived, did not die, and grew unto the “measure of Christ”.

Everything we do MUST be in FAITH, by FAITH, and through FAITH. “Saving faith” is given freely by God through the preaching of the Word of God (Rom.10:17). FAITH IS A MUST!! (HEBREWS 11:6)

“Saving faith” WILL produce action & fruit/work, BUT that action is the WORK OF CHRIST being manifest in a submitted/obedient human. Saving faith produces GOD’s work in us and therefore obedience and action in us.

James 2:14 “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? CAN FAITH SAVE HIM?” (ESV)

You Have to Go Through Hell to Get to Heaven

12 Sep

Very powerful, life changing thought. I’ve never heard it on this fashion. Get the FULL GOSPEL EXPERIENCE.:)

STEVE PIXLER

I am working on a message that I hope to preach soon. Here are the rough–really rough–notes so far.

I think I should begin by looking at the macro picture of how Jesus is bringing us all to heaven, and by heaven I mean this creation made new through union with heaven when heaven comes to earth.

Then, I should show in Ephesians 4 that Jesus could not take us to heaven without first going through hell.

Finally, I should look at the micro picture of how what is true in the larger sense is true in our lives as individuals. We have to go through hell to get to heaven.

What Jesus did in the deep when He confronted the powers of hell has to be reenacted in us. Only then can we ascend to rule with Christ. Or, to put it better, there are realms and areas…

I Corinthians 2: Part 1

12 Sep

“Paul made it clear that there is no way to “pretty up” the Cross. Its power lies in its stark, brutal reality. God has saved the world through a hideous murder.” YOU MUST READ THIS!!:)

STEVE PIXLER

The church at Corinth had a problem with preaching. I do not mean to say that they did not like preaching. No, indeed. They liked preaching a lot. In fact it was one their favorite forms of entertainment. And this, of course, was the problem. Preaching had become a show. It had become an amusement, a diversion to be appraised and applauded as just another form of sophisticated Greek rhetoric.

The Greeks of Paul’s day prized skilled oratory above all other forms of public entertainment. The most celebrated personalities of their day were the sophists and rhetoricians. Accomplished public speakers were the rock stars and movie stars of that day. This attitude bled over into the church at Corinth, and preaching was being corrupted into just another form of public speaking.

Paul highlighted this problem in I Corinthians 1-4 while addressing the more obvious problem of division within the church…

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone

12 Sep

How true is this? I’m hungry. I hope my spirit man is getting as fat as my fleshly man (my body). Lol ARE YOU HUNGRY?

STEVE PIXLER

Jesus said that man shall not live by bread alone, but by “every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” Jesus is saying that man lives by the Word of God as much as he lives by bread. This means that our human existence and life proceeds out of spiritual sustenance as much as natural sustenance.

Since the fall, and particularly in modern times, man tends to think that he lives only by the natural food that he takes into his mouth, but this is a delusion. Indeed, the lack of true “life” that we see around us every day, the poor quality of life that most people endure, is a result of trying to live only by physical bread, only in the physical realm. Man was created to live by the Word as well as by bread, and thus, those who do not feast on the Word…

Judging Success

12 Sep

This truly is my heartbeat & sincere belief. A few years ago I would not have been so passionate about this principal taught by Jesus. Take it from me, you don’t want to learn this lesson the hard way. 🙂

STEVE PIXLER

We tend to judge success by many different measures. Money, fame, possessions, friends, and so on. But it is striking that Jesus judges success altogether differently. At the last judgment, He describes a life “well done” in terms of care shown to the poor. It is amazing the things that Jesus doesnot mention.

He said in Matthew 25, “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and…
